My e36 coupe has the dreaded rust round the top of the windscreen, and a cracked windscreen.

Autoglass won't replace the screen unless the rust is sorted.

can anyone recommend a decent bodyshop that could repair the screen surround at reasonable rates? Happy to travel a bit for the best place (e.g. Edinburgh/Stirling etc)

thanks

+1 for Colin at Performance Bodyshop near Airdrie
Numerous paintwork jobs done on Porsches etc for my picky self and my picky customers and everytime perfect... Old skool approach which is scarce nowadays as wants to not cut corners and do the best job possible for their customers and at a affordable price

Not so sure about the reasonable rates though, I've heard great things about their work but they quoted me £800 for a sill repair to my MX-5 - a common repair that most places will do for £300!

Update:

Performance said £350

McLarens wouldn't touch it.

J B Coachworks, George St in Paisley have a very good rep, would be worth getting a quote from them. (Please note if you search on-line you'll see them often listed as Well St, this is incorrect as they have recently moved to new premises).

I would highly recommend The guy who carried out the restoration on my E30 M3 Sport Evo

My brother had an E36 M3GT with the same problem and he fixed this for him.

I'd recommend these guys:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Touch-Ups/1085111558...

Cheap and total perfectionists. They normally have Porsche / Ferraris / Bentleys etc so know their stuff.

They resprayed the full front end of my Elan for £250ish
