I've found one witness and likely to find at least one other, with myself and my son who was a passenger in my car we should have enough to get the interest of the local plod

Found out where this idiot lives now, we're homing in on you pal. The police will be informed today of my intention to provide a statement, so will the other witnesses be doing the same.

The scruffy car, the scruffy man and the dog cage have no bearing on this at all really, you weren't happy about an overtaking manoeuvre, you've reported it, well done but it's not really worth getting worked up about or taking it upon yourself to slaye this person and have them done. Finding out someone's address for whatever reason isnt right imho, the police will surely take any required action.

We have all made a less than perfect manoeuvre at some point...

Could also have been an emergency. Always two sides to every tale.

Wasn't there obviously, but the OP sounds like he's getting very upset over not a lot.

"We're homing in on you pal." What are you, the FBI? Let it go, it will never have a bearing on your life and will never go anywhere.

Pretty much where I was going with my initial question. The Police may well call round and say they've had some complaints, calm it down. Thats best case, they will not be charging anyone based on testimony of the general public without witnessing the behavior for themselves.

Correct. I'd be very careful about making such statements on the internet. Its not as anonymous as people thing. A quick 10 mins has revealed a full address and telephone number (All in the public domain). I won't post it up but if I said the house was number 5, i think he'll get the message.

What you other posters don't seem to understand is that this wasn't just one bad overtaking manoevoure, it was in excess 30 mins over 30 miles of absolute lunacy involving multiple incidents of dangerous driving and overtaking in to on coming traffic, cutting across three lanes of traffic on a main carriageway in to Aberdeen as well as cutting in front of a fully loaded commuter bus causing it to brake sharply enough to throw passengers out of their seats.

So apparently I should back off and he goes off scot free to maybe kill some poor innocent road users in the future, I'll back off but not because of you lily livered posters, I’ll not pursue it simply because I know the police will do absolutely nothing about it, I know this because I was actually assaulted in broad daylight last year and despite reporting to the local police they said they were powerless to do anything because the other guy and his wife denied ever being where it happened, the cops are bloody useless unless they’re sitting at the side of the road with a speed camera. I just hope that I don't read in the papers that this madman in his hasbeen involved in a fatal accident where a third party is killed or maimed anytime soon. In my opinion there are too many people like those of you who have said leave it be, more should be done to apprehend these lunatics.

It was pure coincidence that I found out where he lived, I was coming out of a shop in a nearby village when I saw the car stop and drop off the passenger then drive off and park at a nearby house. The passenger was actually male but fitted the image I had seen from behind during the driving carnage. If I'd decided to take the law in to my own hands I'd have knocked on his door accompanied by a few burly mates and sorted him out there and then, because I consider myself to be a responsible and professional person I didn't, and carried on in the appropriate manner by reporting it to the police.

Did i suggest to ignore it? No, I said you've reported it and WELL DONE! No need to follow the car, the police can easily get an address from the reg you provided.

Everything can be solved with several powerfully built men but in reality that never happens.

you are not the only poster on this thread, read some of the others please. And, (I know you shouldn't start a sentence with 'and' but I just did!) I did not suggest taking 'powerful' men around with me, I suggested that if I had been so inclined I might have taken that course of action. Rough justice is good in the movies but in real life it is not the proper way to conduct yourself for sure, I'm not some kind of Vinnie Jones character, I am a respectible family man with a concience. Thanks for your post though.

So you followed him for 30 mins to witness his reckless behaviour? How did you manage to observe all this without putting yourself/others in danger also? scratchchin

Well yes, I suggest you do! That's one whole sentence of pure, cold filtered spite going on there.

Let it go man.

Funnily enough, exactly what I was thinking. He was driving like a loon making unsafe passes but you kept up for 30mins. Does not compute...

I didn't follow him, I was going in the same commuter flow of traffic in to Aberdeen, I just happened to 'be following him', you make it out to be like something off 'Police interceptors' or 'Police, camera, action'!!!To answer your second queation (How did you manage to observe all this without putting yourself/others in danger also?) If some clown is driving like Mad Max in front of you it's kinda difficult to not witness it isn't it? My 20 year old son was a passenger in my car, it was him that made both mental notes of the whole thing and it was him that phoned the police, not me, I was too busy concentrating on driving in a responsible manner.
