Hope someone can provide advice on this.
I am discussing a position through an Edinburgh based recruitment company, and they have mentioned that although I will contract through them to the operator I need to provide my own indemnity insurance. This is new to me, however this is the first time I will have contracted through a UK based recruitment agency. In the past I have only had to provide this insurance when contracting direct to an operator, with agents providing the insurance when dealing through them.
Is this usual in UK style terms and conditions?

I have been Contracting now since 2005. Almost always I carry this insurance whether operating as a Ltd Company or a Sole Trader. Always look closely at the contract as often the Agent charge you to cover you under thir system and this tends to be in excess of the +\- £730 that covers you annually. This has been my finding within my works cope.
