Hi Folks,

Hope someone can help.

I'm on track this weekend and have been checking my levels etc. It appears I need a top up of engine oil but my stock of Motul is finished.

I've tried Opie and the usual suspects but to no avail.

Does anyone know of somewhere I can buy some in Aberdeen or the surrounding area? I only need 2ltr or so but would happily buy 5ltrs.

Many thanks

James

That's the stuff I've started using, couldn't find any up in Aberdeen, only option at the time was ordering 5L drums on eBay.

Cheers G.

Sadly the importer went out of business, according to Opie, so the supply of Motul is a real mess at present.

I may have to seek out an equivalent or just drop the oil and run something else for this trackday.

is it a 15/50 motor oil for a car? I have seena few different brands with that spec.

Don't valvoline do that? Also think saw some in some car acceccory shops in our area. is an unusual one so cauht my atention. May want to phone around a few. Asda sell a 10w50 really cheaply. The 50 bit is important for some old cars i drive and dont think the 10 compared to 15 should make that much differnce in this weather?

hope this helps

Paul

Paul,

Yes, it’s Subaru engine in a reasonable state of tune. This was the stuff I was advised to run it on but it needs changed after this trackday anyway so i’ll do that.

I think the Castrol stuff is the best option and will then just drop the lot for the next trackday.

It's the Esther and zinc content that is important to protect the engine, you only get that in expensive oils. ie not ASDA oil. wink

Bit of a random suggestion but have you tried Hein Gericke in Aberdeen? The one in Glasgow stocks a decent range of Motul stuff.

I know it's a bike shop but the website does list the 300V 15/50.
