Hi all

(I've asked this over in the mx5 forum but I thought this one would have a much larger audience, plus it sounds like the only suggestion I've had over there might not be the best place to go)

My beloved 02 MX5 Pheonix is starting to show the dreaded bubbling on the n/s rear arch. I'd like to nip it in the bud ASAP, but I've never had any dealings with any bodyshops before, and after a nightmare last year with my wheels (researched the best garage in the city, only to have them chip all 4 alloys..) I'm more wary than ever of companies I don't know.

Can anyone recommend anyone in the Edinburgh area who would be a good bet, and who won't shaft me? I don't know a great deal about body work or the implications of rust so I wouldn't be able to tell if I was being sold up the river or not.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated folks! I live in Slateford and there's a business nearby called Browns Body Services but I can't find any reviews.

Grays Garage on Gorgie Road near the VW dealership. Don't be put off by the dodgy looking lockups - it does look like a scensoredthole but Stuart does a really good job at very reasonable prices.

Thanks guys. I've got a list of a few garages now. Is it best just to take the car round to each one to get a quote? I don't mind paying a bit more for better work, so cheapest isn't necessarily what I'll automatically go for.

I hesitate to comment as I have no experiences of any bodyshop, but Browns have been there for a very long time if that makes any odds.

Another name that regularly crops up (as a top drawer place) is MRM in Roseburn.
