Anybody else going to watch the granite city rally this weekend?

If so, do you know where the stages are running this year? I heard it begins at Thainstone Mart, Inverurie.

Was checking the entry list & sadly there are no Metro 6R4s running this year.

I'm hoping to go if the weathers bearable.

I take it that the Thainstone venue is just to see the cars and no actual rally takes place there i.e. like AECC a few years back?

Cheers

Terrible accident on stage one at Durris. Fans trying to help a car out of the ditch were hit by another car while attending the car. Three fans were hit at the rear of the car. I am praying they are ok but it was very very serious. The Granite City Rally must be cancelled after that.

We were watching from just up the hill looking down towards it - saw the (girls?) go off in the (Micra?) and thought it looked a bit of a sore one, but nothing too bad. Watched the second car crash into them in slow motion, had a horrible sick feeling that there were people in between the two cars - didn't really want to get close enough to see what happened and left pretty soon after that - when the Marshals are asking for paramedics/doctors/nurses you know it is a bad sign.

The ambulance seemed to take a while to arrive, but I guess that is always a risk - best wishes go out to everyone involved.

Not 100% sure, but I think it may have been one of the older Ford Escort-a-likes - can't be more helpful than that I'm afraid - think the numbers were about 155-165 at that point, but again, can't be 100% sure.
