Anyone see them towards the north sea ? Looks like 4 planes doing wierd turns and things.

Sat and watched them for a while. There were 5 planes in total, two pairs and another that approached them from the opposite direction. Too high up and far away to see the aircraft other than dots ahead of the trails.

Could be tankers air to air refueling

Or Typhoons playing dog-fighting

Sometimes when there is an exercise on there will be AWACS planes doing big loops of Scotland co ordinating all the participants, or depending on atmospherics could be just 747's on differents flightpaths?

Planes seemed to be practicing for some sort of show,doing large figure of eights and the sort. Not seen it happen before.
