Friend was telling me she got a note through her door while she was away asking if she had seen anyone dodgy as there had been a similar incident in the basement garage at her flat. Right in he middle of Glasgow.

Makes my piss boil.

For once I hope that is some idiot spreading fear by copying information from the Aberdeen incident to a different location and not another attack

I am noticing these types of crime more often in the news lately.
Does anyone know if it is happening more/being reported more?

That's good to hear. I believe this one happened over Christmas as she was away home and only got the note yesterday.

Good god!

Was thinking about renting a flat on Oswald Street but glad I saw this post. Noticed the flat came with underground parking and thought that would be a bonus but not if that's what goes on, bloody awful!

Made me rethink where to rent now for sure.

I'm a guy, and I suppose relatively easy for me to say this, but I wouldn't let this put you off the property. Thankfully this kinda stuff is rare.

It's sad to say, but this sort of thing can happen absolutely anywhere - it's not really something you can mitigate against in terms of location choice.

Aye, would just be worried about the GF if i wasn't around but totally understand this sort of thing happens everywhere an anywhere.

Needing to find a flat in city centre and not sure of the areas best to look. The parking on Oswald Street flats was a bonus but sure I'll find something else.

More reports of needles being found in the stairwells at the same flats. Think they're starting to fall into disrepair, end up the same way as Club Paraiso on Wallace St no doubt!

Mass living like that on such an impersonal scale just doesn't seem to work very well. Nobody cares about anything outside their flat door.

Has anyone ever been inside them?

The flats looked alright on the internet.

Yeah my friend does. Moving out this weekend though. They're nice enough flats, just basic and white as you would expect.

After rent, council tax and factors fee she was paying nearly a grand a month! It's not worth it for the location imo.

How much was she paying??? That's heavy, Is it because the flat is right in the centre?

Thought they were reasonable in price when saw them on internet yesterday but obviously not. Wouldnt feel right about the GF staying with all that going on to be honest.

Going down next weekend to have a look about areas and places.

625 rent plus 200 odd council theft plus factors fee. You can add on extra for a parking space.

It's not cheap.

That's crazy. Was it only a 1 bed for that price?

You must be glad your friend is leaving!
