Car Wanted: Glasgow

After being rear ended at significant speed whilst stationary on the M8 on Sunday, my car has officially been written off and a cheque for £1200 is winging it's way to me.

The car was a 1.2 Punto. I'm probably looking to replace it with a similar car or possibly a car derived van.

I can add a bit on top of the £1200 if necessary.

Any local PHers got anything interesting that might be up for grabs?

We have a nice Jag XK8 coming in after the new year if that's any good to you. It's got a wee 4.2 engine that's not too bad on fuel.

It'll be about £12000 as well.

That was suggested to me earlier today as well. My only concern is that I'm not very mechanically minded!

My mate's selling his Punto. I can get details if you like. Car is based in Inverkip.

ETA it's a 5-door, 53 plate iirc. Think he's looking at selling for around your budget too...

I know where there is a y reg Volvo s60 sitting sorned....reasonable car, has about eight months mot, 85 k miles, 1 owner, good history, owner bought a new car and got caught out having to sorn because of the continuous insurance regs, so has no tax. Reckon you could have it for a grand. Pm me if you want to be put in touch.

I helped a mate pick up a t reg 1.7 puma for £690 a few weeks ago, decent length of mot and tax.
Its got air con, heated windscreen and barely any rust on the back arches. Wonderful little car.
