Large Photo Printer Aberdeen(shire)
Discussion
Costco do prints up to 24x36 as I've had a few done already this year.
Sams Photo lab can do up to 18x12 at very high quality, and they are based in Lawrencekirk.
Other than that, the usual internet companies would be DSCL and Loxley Colour (both Glasgow based I think), and Photobox. These companies offer a near next day working service and the cost of postage is less than you would pay in fuel to drive around the shire.

Costco do 24x36 and 16x24 poster prints - what's the quality of these compared with the smaller photos? I'll be putting the photo in a picture frame for my wall.Sams Photo lab can do up to 18x12 at very high quality, and they are based in Lawrencekirk.

My parents live in Westhill anyway so it's hardly out the way.
I would say the quality of their 24x36 prints was on a par with their smaller prints, though I think they only do them in a matte finish, which is actually perfect if you want to frame them as a glossy finish can give unwanted reflections behind the glass.
Obviously you'll need a high quality, hi-res file to print at this size, but both of mine were slight crops from a 10MP camera and printed fine with no pixellation.

Well I sent off the picture to Costco (from a 10MP compact so should be ok). Since I wanted a 20 x 16 picture I did some cropping and sent in a 24:16 image with a 4" blank bit I'd cut off to fit in the frame.Obviously you'll need a high quality, hi-res file to print at this size, but both of mine were slight crops from a 10MP camera and printed fine with no pixellation.
... except they've tried to be 'clever' and just blown up the picture to fill the entire 16x24 print!!!
I wasn't able to check until we left Costco so I'll have to take it back tomorrow
