My girlfriend has just called after walking past, apparently a Ferrari and a blue Jeep of some sort. The Ferrari was completely mashed, as she put it. Four ambulances were in attendance. Hope no-one was seriously hurt.

He's done well to upgrade from a Focus RS so quickly.

The driver that is. Not your son.

There was a video posted a while back of some enthusiastic driving around the town in a white Focus. There was then a long thread of enthusiastic posting about said driving.

Hope all involved are ok. There was a white 458 at Hopetoun House in August?

Silly, doing that sort of speed in a 30mph. Waste of a nice car.... glad he didn't hit pedestrians or a small car or there could have been fatalities.

Love the assumptions being made on speed smile

Agreed, although it doesn't look like a sub 31mph impact....

Proving that is an entirely different thing.

scratchchin

Fezza doing 30 (ish) + X3 doing 30 (ish)= 60+ mph head-on impact.
Would be interesting to see the X3

That doesn't look like a 90+ impact.
Still not clever crashing it at any speed but, we know nothing of the incident.

Actually, not that difficult calculate approximate speeds of either vehicle taking into account the initial point of impact and the final position they came to rest. On inspecting the crash site today there are no obviuos skidmarks on the road except from one tyre mark from the ferrari just before it hit the kerb, then impacted the wall which reversed its direction. there are two very distincy scuff marks on the wall consistent with a double impact. i.e. it hit the front off side quarter then snapped round coming to rest with the rear nearside quarter nearest the wall. I have not seen the BMW but it appears to have been on the correct side of the road when the impact took place. Again , no obviuos skid marks

Not difficult to calculate using proper evidence after an accident but to see a car go past and "guess" accurately no chance, especially when your jusgement will be clouded by a noisy 458 which "must" be going very fast smile

At the bus stop where stand every morning there is a 30 MPH speed warning sign and it is fascinating watching which cars "Look" like they will trip it as the drive along
