Cattle grids, RWD, Rain, Ooops
Discussion
There are a few cattle grids in the Highlands which are on proper driving roads but also on corners.
I'm thinking of posting the dangers of these to the rest of the pistonhead 'clan', as they WILL catch out r.w.d. cars in the wet.
Fast corners with cattle grids need to be 'straightened' by the driver, or a neutral throttle needs to be in place for safe passage.
If you know of any particularly nasty ones in the Highlands, let me know and I'll flag them.
And just in case anybody mentions... yes, we could all drive at 30 mph and there wouldn't be a problem.
In the real world, I'm trying to save lives.

yep, cattle grid & rain = no "lateral" grip.
a tricky one just south of bridge of brown, A939 heading south. after the bridge of brown zigzags, a long corner, then a little straight, a slight right then cattle grid, then a sharp right hand off camber corner. temptation to start the turn on the cattle grid.
same road, A939 at the Lecht ski centre, top of a gentle hill, not really a problem but restricted visability, to see who is coming.
B951 glen shee to kirriemuir. cattle grid not much problem but beware the little bridge just after heading to kirrie. slow a bit or you will go airborne.

Teere'a a lovely one midway round a fast sweeping corner on this stretch of road . . .

Certainly on that requires you to straighten the corner . . .
