Quick bit of googling turned up these two companies - anyone used either of them (or any other?)

http://www.fastrax.org/Rage-Buggies-Racing-Scotlan...

The video in the first link makes them look pretty slow - I'm wondering of its just down to the drivers, or whether the throttle is being restricted - they don't look as fast as I thought they would be... (but perhaps that's only in comparison to what I had in mind )

Excellent. bounce

Do they feel quick/powerful enough? I'm really hoping for plenty of oversteer action with these things..

I've used the ones out at lochter in Aberdeen, great fun and we did it in the mud which made them slower and difficult to handle but great for some oversteer an drifting fun

Thanks Barry - I'll have a look for that.

Yes, I know the rage buggies can be very quick - see the Colin McRae video for example - that is why I am particulary seeking them out.

My only concern was that these places may have throttle restrictors...

Pretty sure that Fastrax buggy's have honda engines (GX's??) - that is pretty standard for "commercial" rage buggy's. Doubt you will get the colin mcrae/full blown buggy's at a commercial centre. Definately none if Scotland that I know off.

Def thumbs up for Fastrax, worth going along and trying it, there is a centre in Cumbernauld as well, but havent been.

I booked a day of this when i had my stag do, the day was organised at fast trax, up in fife. Firstly we went for the Honda Pilot racing not the Rage buggies, to say it was an amazing day would be an understatement, awesome fun.

When we arrived we were glad we opted for the Pilots. The rage buggies, although bigger and more powerful, the track was a totally different set up, it was single track, no room for overtaking, it was more of an against the clock thing. With the Pilots the track was massive, side ways action around most corners was exhilirating, and to say they were slow would be a lie. Although this was a timed race as well, there were still at any time about 5/6 buggies on track.

Money well spent

Just had a look at the video - yes, they look like a lot of fun too...

Might have to do both if I can't decide.

Go to the video in the first link and at 39 seconds a guy in the video shouts f*** off. Brilliant but not the best idea for promotion smile
