The XJ220 spots are funny to me because for a long time during the 00's there always seemed to be a silver one parked up near the embassies in the Haymarket area of Edinburgh. Could never fathom why a car of such value was always out on the street like that but it looked fantastic.

I've seen a fair amount of decent cars over the years but probably the most recent one that really had me surprised was seeing an 1960's Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ being driven around Kinloch Rannoch last year.

Funny you should say that. The XJ220 I seen in Banchory was parked in a garden centre car park. It was covered in the morning dew as if it had been there all night.

If you used to read EVO magazine then you should know this car.
My parents spotted it in Scrabster waiting on the Orkney ferry.

Probably that same north east silver XJ220; my spot was it in the ASDA car park in Dyce in 1999/2000. Oh and an F50 in the rain driving through Cults.

Two great spots that have stuck in my mind…

In July 2014 (I remember because I was heading to Plockton for my honeymoon!), we were driving north across the Forth Bridge & a Lancia 037 flashed past in the opposite direction. The only time I’ve ever seen one in the wild.

I also remember, some years ago, walking along George Street in Edinburgh, parked casually on double yellow lines was a New South Wales registered Sunbeam Tiger.

It was a rally spec car, very dusty & weathered looking & packed full of luggage. Not worth as much as many of the cars in this thread, but very cool I thought! I couldn’t help but wonder what it was doing there. Had someone driven it all the way from Oz?

I spotted a German registered Mclaren F1 on the Kingsway in Dundee not long after they came out. The only one I've ever seen in the wild. I assume it was on it's way to somewhere else smile

There are usually more Range Rovers there than in that pic but I would say so.

Yes, a good number of years ago. 2010 I think.

Inverness must be up there as the best place in Scotland for spotting rarities, everything from a group of Koenigseggs, Ford GT40s & GTs and I spotted two Ferrari 250's a while back. Porsche, McLarens, Astons are a very common sight in the summer months.
Kingsmill hotel or Ness walk seems to be the hotels of choice for the groups

Didn't know about the "Ness Walk" location. Which hotel is it. I'm just round the corner from the Kingsmills and always look into the car park to see what is there.

Many years ago not far from where in central Scotland, there was a modest bungalow with detached double garage where the owner kept his F40 & 288 GTO , pretty random for a stable like this but none the less flippin awesome
