Are there any of us in East Yorkshire? I don't think I have heard of or met any.

I'm moving back over that way from Huddersfield in about six weeks so just wondered whether I would be on my own in spreading the good word... well, making a godawful racket and scaring the wildlife anyway

And at least the road surface is better over there

I can see an East Yorks Hoon and BBQ kind of idea forming as I type

Okay, who deleted their post about me moving to East Yorks? Its absence makes me look like I'm a raving nutcase!

That would be me. I misread the thread and thought it was you who was moving. Thank you for looking like a nutcase for me.

Well I am fifteen miles from the sea. I guess that is rather... East.

Thinking about it, don't think I've ever been closer than ten feet to a TVR. What a sheltered life I have lived

Whaddya mean you've never heard of it before???? The East Riding of Yorkshire... the Wolds, Driffield, Bridlington, Hull, Goole, oh, and the Humber Bridge! ... basically, as you go over the big Boothferry Bridge over the end of the Humber/Ouse that's East Yorkshire...

Oh, and you're right about that Market Weighton to Howden road Martyn, flat as a pancake, straight as an arrow, and about three miles long oh

Jo - how long does it take you to get to work from your place?

It'll only take me 90 mins barring M62 cockups. I've done 60 - 75 mins before for long enough, doesn't worry me... but Vic is 5 mins down the back lanes to work and 5 mins to Gabby's nursery, so swings and roundabouts.

If I leave home at 6:00 I can be at my desk in Manchester City Centre by 7:20. If I leave at 7:00 I won't get in until well after 9:00, sometimes nearer 10:00! Although I have to say, the majority of the hold-ups are from home to the M606 not on the M62.

Longest journey to date, 3 hours 40 mins! Quickest 1hr 10 (and I wasn't in the Tiv!)

I have to say, I don't envy you that drive every day.

But like I said, it'll be between an hour and 20 mins to an hour and a half, nice steady motorway until last 20 mins.

It's your trip I wouldn't fancy

Hence why I'm looking for a big diesel motorway cruiser... anyone got a 525 TDS Touring they want rid of? looking around 94/95 with 90k -ish on the clock.

You could try buying the Autotrader, or searching their website www.autotrader.co.uk You could also consider an Audi or Merc diesel estate maybe?. There are lots in the Autotrader.

Well... you know what they say... best thing to come out of Hull is the M62

I wondered why everyone looked startled the last time I took the car over that way... they obviously don't have them across there... should be fun then

And yes Martyn, I have checked AutoTrader, in fact have been doing so for the last 6 weeks... but I'd rather buy one off someone on here if anyone has one. I would get something newer, but I'll have stuck 100k miles on it in two years and it'll be worth jack S. At least if I only spend four or five grand, I won't lose too much.
