Good places to eat near Doncaster Airport
Discussion
Hi Guys
I am going to Gdansk,Poland for a long weekend from
Doncaster/Sheffield/Nottingham/Robin Hoods Bay/Olay Olay Biscuit barrel Airport
and wondered if anyone on here can help with a recommendation
for somewhere local to eat early doors on Friday before our flight
We would prefer a nice country pub type establishment
but are open to most suggestions
We are coming down the M180 from Leeds so preferably
to the North and West of the airport
TYIA
Cheers
Richard

Hi there,
For pub goto the Hare And Tortoise. Good pub food not that expensive.
Places like the Crown (had food there once and quite nice), Zinis (italian, We eat hear quite often) and China Rose (Very good Chinese)in Bawtry you are looking at £40 per head. All these are good places but will need bookings a week in advance.
I live 2 mins from the airport PM if you want to know anything else

That looks perfect for us , thanks Andy good shout.
Call in and I will buy you a pint - just look for 2 ugly heavies
with 2 good looking blondes and you will have found us!!!!!
somewhere near enough to the airport that no traffic/accident worries
to delay us, and a lovely pub to have a chill before starting
a nice long weekend break.
Thanks to Jonty and Trev for their suggestions as well
PHers save the day yet again
Cheers

Not sure if you have flown yet, but as you have (I think) agreed to go to the Hare and Tortoise, you have made a decent decision. Not bad food grub, faily cheap, and about five mins from the Airport.
Bawtry would have been nice if you wanted to spend more money, and do a restuarant, but pub grub you did ask for.
The Dower would have been my Bawtry choice, best Indian I have been to, plus they do takeaway. Yums.

Hi Dave you should have called and had a pint with us
and thanks to everyone for their suggestions
Just back and have had a great time
I would recommend it too everyone, as a cheapish place to go
and very surprisingly is very picturesque in places yet very Communist in others
The contrasts are startling, and very nice helpful people(unlike Praque)
Not as pretty pretty as Prague but certainly as much to see and do
and only £1.70 for .5L of good beer
A very good place for a long weekend break from all angles
and for all you living next to D/R/S/N/RH/OLOLBB Airport a great choice
Anyone want more info or to see a few pics send me a PM
Cheers guys for your help
