I've just come back from York to Scarborough, the A1237 York ring road is flooded but passable with care, big floods near the A19 at Skelton / Clifton and then on to Clifton Moor.

Hopegrove roundabout will almost certainly be flooded at Little Hopgrove as it gets bad quickly.

At the top of Whitwell there is a really deep flood, estimated 3 foot deep in lane 1, it is just passable by taking the central reservation.

From Malton to Scarborough there is flooding every couple of miles, mostly passable one at a time by taking to the crown of the road.

There is a major flood near the Peasholme Park in Scarborough as the lake is overflowing, the roundabout joining the Marine Drive to the Columbus Ravine is very deep and flowing fast.

Its still chucking down here with potential for more rain overnight.

Be careful out there, if you get stuck out this way and have my mobile number feel free to give me a call, I've not got a 4x4 but my BMW has a towbar and I'll do anything I can to help.

Alright mate, how's the flooding in the centre of town, around Sainsbury's way?

Just wondering because I'm back in Grimsby, so I don't know if my house in Scarborough's ok... I think it should be, we live at the top of a very steep road.

Yeah, there's not much of value left in the house, I don't think, but it wouldn't be nice to go back to for graduation if it had flooded. It's good to hear that you've made it through all the floods and stuff, is your part of Scarborough OK?

Fine thanks fella, we're at the top of the cliffs, about 300 foot, I reckon it would be the end of the world before it flooded up here hehe

Gotta take the Tiv to Harrogate tomorrow so I'm hoping things dry up a bit overnight.

Leeds City Centre is apparently ok but the trains and buses are hellish.
