Harewood Hillclimb - Sat/Sun 12th - 13th
Discussion
I thought Id drop a friendly reminder to let everyone know (if they dont already) that this weekend we see a two day race meet at Harewood Speed Hillclimb.
Saturday, amongst the many fine machines running up the hill is none other than the Ferrari owners club with cars including the usual compliment of 348, 308 and 355, but also a Daytona and a 250GT
Sunday see's various machines, but an almost full compliment of high powered Gould single seaters heading up which are no doubt likely to set a blistering time aswell as challenge the precision of the photosnappers on the day (well...me and Woolleson anyway )
Entry is £10 per person with the usual parking facilities available
Weather is said to be light rain, but you never can tell can you
I'll be there on the Sunday taking pics and taking in the sights and sounds
Last time I came away with impaired hearing for two days
Maybe catch up with some of you there

My first time at Harewood about 6 years ago was a Ferrari Club day - I've told this story before, but it was realyl good watching these big beasties muscle up the hill, breathe in for the gap between the famr buildings!
Some guy came up in a (IIRC) 328, held it on the ragged edge all the way up, last corner, big slide, keeps it on the tarmac right till the last minute, theres absolutely nothing to hit - WHACK. hits the metal box that the timing beam shines out of. Doh! Made a right mess, but even more impressive/shocking/scary was the way the guy just brushed it off as 'one of those things'!
I will try and get there on Saturday, got so much to do though this weekend.

Last time the Fia...*ahem* Ferrari Owners Club was along i was on Farmhouse Out and one chap got it slightly wide and wacked the end of the Quarry Straight armco with his nearside wing..... that made a bit of a mess.

Top man. Two drivers, so we are 178 and 978.
*cough* Slight error in the information supplied to me....
We were running 166 and 966 today, and will be running 60 and 760 tomorrow.
Moran and Groves were at Barbon today and there was some really quick times despite the cold damp weather. The track never fully dried out after the harepin, yet FTOD was onlt 0.2 sec's off the hill record.
They'll be at Harewood tomorrow (Sunday) so i hope it stays dry for you all

Ahhh the Morans...yes, mate got some good shots of their car
It didnt half rain today, but made for interesting racing though
Ohh and Lord
I got out of the bottom car park with a bit of rally driving skills coming up...it was a rare old laugh....car was screaming, back sliding, my mate in the passenger seat shouting "Hairpin" "Cautiion - Post" like a co-driver
Got into the top car park, let the backend kick, took off the power and casually straightened the wheels as the car gracefully slid 360 much to the amusement of a young man in a toyota starlet..laughing his tits off
Another great day at Harewood, enjoyed it immensely as did Woolleson so my thanks go out to the guys and dolls on the hill, especially Lord Summerisle
Should be there on the 2nd of june, if all goes well...if not, June 17th for the TVR Speed Championship!!!!!!!

I've downloaded some video of the stunning Audi Quattro Sport which returned to Barbon this year. I'll put a link on once it's finished uploading, i'll also add a clip of one of the No. 2 Moran zipping up the main hill. They recon they were getting close to 140 mph towards the braking markers, awsome to see, especially given the proximity of the trees.....
Cheers for the comment on the Tuscan BTW
