Got to re-carpet most of the house after successful extension.

North Leeds

About 60-70 square meters.

Anybody recommend a good seller/fitter?

not planning on axeminsters or wiltons, just good house carpets.

Calverts Carpets at Northallerton, on the industrial estate. They do free delivery (not sure how far) but certainly to York and fitting is around £30 per room inc. grippers. They have a massive selection of roll ends as well as the off the roll stuff and 3 grades of underlay to choose from.

I wouldn't recommend BHS store (was Alders).. It is actually a Carpet Right concession and they were completely useless... One year on and they are still coming out to rectify problems, which they fail to put right every time!

Allied Carpets on Crown Point did a cracking job of my first floor rooms and stairs. Good choice too.

hmmm. that's 8.4 yds (aprox) from where I live. Tomorrow morning I'll pop in.

Thanks all above for the positive and negative shouts.

I'm getting a quote from County Carpets in Whitkirk and Jim's Carpets on Kirkstall Road.

Roundwood carpets at junc 40 m1 are a wholesale place
half price of local carpet shops.
but no showroom. you have a look at shops and then tell them make of carpet.
also cheap underlay.
then local paper for a fitter.
saved me a fortune.

Jim's are decent on price and quality. They fit out for companies such as David Wilson Homes etc and sell the excess through the shop.
