Is commuting from Macclesfield to Sheffield a realistic aim or will I find myself driving too long every day? I will start work at 8am and finish 5 to 6pm normally.
I am looking to move soon closer to Manchester but will still be working in or around Sheffield.
Does anyone on here do a similar drive? How long does it take?
Thanks for nay advice.

A 40 mile/1 hour commute? on a route that most of us go out especially to drive for a bit of fun? Can't see a problem myself.

i did wakefield to buxton for nearly four years.
a bit scary during the snow & ice, but generally good fun.
try and find different routes to vary things up a bit.
buy a car/bike (if necessary) that will help you enjoy the roads even more.

Yes. Have actually been reconsidering Glossop as an alternative meaning Snake or Woodhead pass every day. Should be good!!!
Can't decide what car though. Something pokey for overtaking but economical and room for a baby and its accessories.
Any ideas?
I was thinking BMW deisel 330/320d, Suburu Legacy/Forrester, Audi A4 quattro ( 4WD may be helpful in winter I guess), ?Golf GTI or similar
