the run past Elvington is also nice, I found it after a track day when I heard on the Radio the A64 was chocca so turned right out of Elvington insteaed of left.
Yup thats my road, is great fun. Although you get a fair few people falling into ditches.
A good one is coming down from elvington down to bubwith then across to North Duffield and make your way upto escrick or up to wheldrake then onto the A19.
Good fun there.
My old stomping ground too Definately some great roads....especially the Escrick to Skipwith/North Duffield road where me and my Alfa met the hedgerow many years ago
Nothing to do with my driving skills I hasten to add.....let's just say I was a little sleepy guv'nor!
Al knows what happened!

B1363 York to Helmsley... its cracking, twisty, undulating, well surfaced, plenty of overtaking spots.
If your off to look at the Porsche in Malton this weekend - take this road, trust me!
I spent 15 years living in a village on that road. Learnt how to drive on it then learnt how to drive quickly on it too
Great road especially if you 'know' it
Shhhhhh - dont tell everyone That road is about 800 yards from where i live and its bloody great. I have driven it hundreds of time - all for the pleasure of it. Give me a shout if anyone fancies a hoon downh there. If you carry on north to Stokesley that road is equally good.
Infact as the weather is nice and I have a day off - i think i will wheel out the Tiv and go for a drive right now

I agree, often use that route back from Teesside to avoid the A1 (Stokesley to Helmsley and then down to York) - but don't want everyone knowing about it or it won't be as good!
My favourite (local) road to throw into the hat:
OK, there are a couple of roads there, but they tie together to form hairpins around desolate hills and over water, thundering straights over the moors, tiny twisting country lanes, and everything inbetween. If doing the M62 past there, I'd ALWAYS turn off for two junctions and have some serious fun.

it is serious fun there, but there is no margin for error

Believe me, it's not that regal! Have just spent a week on eBay sourcing spares for it - it might be up to "peasant" or "serf" in the next fortnight. It's a bit of a "project car".
Got your mail - will send you the details once I've had a word with t'other Tom and made sure I know where it's all going at the end of this!

Ahh.. the A640 to Denshaw - Cracking Road... Driven many times... Nice spots for profile pics
From Denshaw I normally cut through to Delph then Uppermill and head back over the A635 to Holmfirth.. then back home
Unless its a good day when you can head out of Holmfirth and pick up the A616 then the A628, looping back towards Holmfirth over the Woodhead Pass (A6024)...
Many happy hours, Many good roads, Sometimes a half hour run out to blow the cobwebs away can turn into a two hour jaunt
