Hello !

Have now got 2 firm offers of work in Harrogate - lovely place but oh so pricey.

Can anyone advise me on how long it would take to travel from Dishforth to central harrogate as a daily commute ?

Many thanks

Peak time 45 mins-1hr via A59, could shave 10 mins off by cutting across Calcutt/Hookstone onto Knaresborough Road near the Tesco west of starbeck.

Off peak 20

Very off peak 12 mins

Eh!

It very much depends where in Harrogate.

I used to live in Starbeck and work at Dishforth Airfield.

That took 20-25 mins at 0800, 30 -35 at 0830.

I mainly went through Knaresborough and down the back roads. Obviously a single tractor or farm truck could really spoil your day and annoy your boss!!!!

But you were going in the opposite direction to most of the traffic???!

Hence it takes ages to get into Hgte on a morning, apparently...

Is Boston Spa much cheaper than Harrogate? cos it didn't used to be ... nice place to live, handy for H'Gate, York, Leeds and bang on the A1M

Fair one, I take your point.

Does it realy take an hour plus to do the journey though?

It DOES depend on where abouts in Harrogate you work.

New work place just off Swan Road - near strangely Swan Hotel

Had a look around central Harrogate last week - small 4 bed house overlooking Stray 600k !

Another marginaly bigger house down Almsford Av also 600k !

Boston Spa seems to be somewaht cheaper get big 4 bed for 600k

Hasten to add we can't strech to 600k without selling everything ! More realstically 500-550k

Wetherby is a decent place if you want to be out of Harrogate and not pay top dollar.
Ripon is much cheaper.

Boston Spa to Harrogate can take anywhere between 15 and 35 minutes depending on time of day and number of coffin dodgers going to Harrogate!
Boston Spa, Clifford, Bramham are all nice (I live in that neck of the woods)
