Brill, looks an interesting subject will read it later on when I'm at home!

What (Yorkshire presumably) Uni are you at?

I've recently signed myself up for another 2 years at Hallam, back again in May. On my 3rd year Placement now.

Lot of my mates that didnt do placements are just in the process of finishing their final few projects and things, I know how much hard work it is!

I'm at uni in Manchester, so not too far away... it's been the toughest year of my life, I've never been so stressed, lol. Ask anyone who knows me, there have been so many time I thought I was going mad biglaugh
I went on placement as part of my course last year - are you enjoying it?

Yup, its all round a good experience - Learning lots, earning a few ( literally, a FEW! ) quid, and my employer has been quite keen to talk about coming back when I graduate. But...

I'm living with my parents for the year, I miss my Uni mates, I dont get to go out out on a 'school night' anymore, And I miss living in Sheffield, with loads to do, and awesome mountain biking 15min ride from my house.

Got a brilliant flat lined up, right near the pub . Get the keys on 1st July, the other lads are moving straight in, But I dont finish placement till August 30th. Still, its there to be abused at weekends.

Where are you at, if you don't mind me asking? Make the most of the year, my placement was fantastic - try and get a job sorted for when you graduate before you leave though. My employers were so keen to have me back, but now i'm finishing my degree, i doubt anything is going to come of it.

I'm moving back home (to Sheffield) on Saturday, back to living with mum and dad and I can't wait! I'm sure I'll still keep in touch with my friends etc but I just wanna live somewhere clean !!!! Students today really don't have the same levels of personal hygeine I do hehe

Uni at Sheffield Hallam, placement I'm working at Optare In Leeds, designing these beasties

My placement is a company very close to where I'm from, which made sense when applying for the job. I'm living at my parents house, and frankly I can't wait to leave.

Yes its big, clean, cheap board etc, But I want my independence back.

I guess you always want what you haven't got. But right now I'm really looking forward to going back, even if its gonna be a long hard slog with no money.

Theres a whole thread on my Uni tribulations! I've made the right choice though.

Just off to have a look at your work now, hell, theres nowt on telly ;D

Thats a picture of a bus !! Maybe you could have helped me, my last assignment (in tomorrow) is kinda related to busses, but I just cant get the motivation to do it, plus I don't understand it hehe

You're right, you do always want what you can't have - I understand that all too well. Although sometimes you just know what you want too. And I am so ready to move out! No rent, fabulous washing facilities, a great big comfy bed and nice company, im fortunate enough to get on very well with my parents...... also there's talk of a new car in the pipeline but need to save a bit more money first

Yup...

When asked, I can tell people

"I'm designing vehicles,

RWD,
big powerful 6 cylinder engines,
turbocharged,
composite bodywork,
fully customisable interiors,
Air ride suspension with adjustable ride height
etc etc"

"Wow, you mean like custom Range Rovers or something? Sports cars?"

"Er no. they also have 42 seats and a wheelchair bay"

Bloody things

I skimmed through your work last night, it was an interesting read.
