Driving to Cambridge/Newmarket, how long?

Going to a stag do tomorrow/night.

Driving down for airsoft at 10am tomorrow morning from Leeds to Tuddenham.

I can hit the A1/M at Sherburn in Elmet within about 5 mins.

Can anyone give me any tips at time taken to get there. AA, RAC and Google maps give wildly varying times.


It looks like about 160 miles, I don't want to "speed" all the way as I hear there are speed cameras about on the A1, it's just A1(M)/A14 DC/motorway all the way early saturday morning...

Will it really take almost 4hrs as Google said? 160miles / 75mph ~ 2hrs 15mins...

I'd work on 3 hours at that time, as you say the A1 has cameras but not half as many as the A14, its riddled with them, both front and rear facing.

Aiming to get there for 10am, so might have to set off at 7am then

Ah well, at least the first leg will be nice and quiet
