Recently purchased a VW polo gti as a daily driver and the wheels have the usual corrosion around the polished rims under the lacquer, the centers are pretty good. Really want to keep the original wheels and wounder if any one can recommend a company fairly local to Beverley that can do them. Have tried Jemison's at York and he will only blast and paint them, like to keep the polished rim even if it means regular cleaning. Also know of a firm in Nottingham that specialises in BBS but seem a bit pricey - full refurb £400.

Ian Jemison in Bishopthrope, near York comes recommended.

Hope to get my Alpina's done soon.

Looking through some older threads come across a firm in Stockton Romax, gave me a fair quote over the phone £400 split the rims and powder coat them outers different colour if i want, or will diamond cut the outer rims for £25 each this seems the easiest and cheapest option plus do it while i wait. The rims will be bare alloy though so much cleaning required.

Just got back from Stockton guys at Romax did a top jobthumbup wheels had the outer rims diamond cut which has brought them back to as new. The work was done in the time they said - couple of hours and it cost me £100 plus i didn't get my hands dirty removing the wheels. Had a nice drive back over the moors as well so the wheels are covered in brake dust now.

Think they diamond cut them without splitting, there is a slight lip on the center edge but hardly noticable. Full strip paint 2 colours rebuild £100 a wheel - still not bad.
