There seem to be a few traffic lights in Leeds on my daily commute that have changed their timings in the last week or so, has anyone else noticed this?
The lights at the Sheepscar junction seem to be green for a much shorter time, and the lights from Park Lane onto the inner ring road used to be green on the left turn before straight on, now they both go green together.

It's not just my imagination, is it?

I would answer if I knew what ones you were talking about. I only know them as big junctions or little junctions and Paola only knows them as scary junctions and stupid junctions

Wouldn't surprise me. The York Road ones I use on a morning seem to be a little quicker to get though at the moment. Probably to make up for the stupid junction into the new housing estate just before ASDA.

Probably have changed.

They've just added lights at the Colton A1-M junction which have pretty much slowed everything down twice as much at all but THE most busy times where it's just a touch better.

Leeds is on the list for Congestion Charge.

In London they fvcked about with the phasing to screw up the traffic, then changed it back on day 1 of the charge.

Ah well.

Just have to tell my local MP and people with commerical interest in Leeds why I won't be bothering going there anymore if they wonder why the city commerce takes a dive.

Car is quite efficient into Leeds right now on a weekend, way quicker and cheaper than bus/train etc... but if they think I'm bloody paying more!

Will just go to York and give them my hard earned! Maybe has something to do with them being heavily tourism focussed with a relatively poor locale wrt to transport links from nearby areas, so they understand that the only way to survive is to allow people access to the city via cars!?

Or, have they succumbed to the charging too?

I've not noticed any changes, although I've been over to Halifax most days crawling along in the traffic!

With the second one, it's because they've closed the tunnel to get to the inner ring road from Kirkstall Road for 14 weeks for lighting refurbishment! WTF?! How can it possibly take that long?

In theory you have to go up to the Park Lane/Burley Road, turn RIGHT go around the solicitors in a loop. but because they've changed the lights, you can just go up and turn left.

Actually I've been meaning to look for a suitable route to the 'Fax avoiding the main roads - it's taking an age at the moment!

It's a terrible area for transport really, but pretty stunning all the same, most of the roads are tens of feet up above the surrounding buildings or hanging off the sides of the hills!

Just not so great for todays traffic load though.
