Me and the missus need a decent local garage to do little jobs on our mk3 and mk4 golf diesels....can anyone recommend a VW specialist in North Leeds? we're in Roundhay.

Well Lane Garage in Chapel Allerton is very near the missus' work - anyone know of these?

Cheers

Have you looked at this thread

GS Motors have always looked busy when I've walked past, but I've never had any dealings with them...

There is a Well Lane Turbo Centre in Batley, which I think may be causing some confusion here. They generally seem to provoke a mixed reaction when they appear on here - do a search on the Yorkshire forum and I'm sure you'll some info. Can't remember the one in Chapel Allerton being commented on before though.

Im not sure about Chapel Allerton, but WLTurbos in Batley have been accused of killing a lot of cars over the years, but then again a lot of people that go to Well Lane Turbos tend to want big turbos, big boost and absolutely no internal work at all!!

So its bound to happen

ah I see, yes definately not the same place.

I just looking for a cheap but well run place near to me that me and missus can use for the usual stuff on our cheap cars.....used to IVC in stourton but it's a bit far and they don't do courtesy cars.

Also will keep an eye on the other thread about the vw/audi specialist off scotthall.

Cheers lads.

Off Topic... Do you guys do the Plus 4 thing for the beemers servicing? I need an Oil Service on the ZMCoupe and trying to decide if it's worth staying Dealer or finding a decent Indie (price will be a factor, for what really is just an oil change, hence the Plus4 question)

Cheers

Same here - this thread is the first time I've heard of the Chapel Allerton one. If it was my business I'd have changed the name by now given some of the postings on here about the other one!

I use B&W Care now mine is out of warranty; fantastic outfit, much much cheaper than Scotthall, even on Plus4 rates - £110 v £40 per hour. The guy that started the business was the service manager at Listers BMW so I trust that he knows his stuff. If you want to give them a call....0113 256 6999.

Blimey, I really have been out of touch, didn't know you had a BM. paperbag

What your opinion on IVC, i work very close to them and need my car servicing (Focus), thought i'd give them a try as i don't have the time to do it myself and don't want to use main dealer as car is out of warrenty.

I took my girlfriends VW Polo to IVC a week ago cos the check engine light was on and it was misfiring. Never been there before but they were excellent. Charged £50 to sort it, sorted a load of other stuff and were polite and courteous. Highly recommend them

You're not that out of touch, I've only had it a couple of months

I take it they are good with M stuff if you are taking yours there?

OT: Are you still on msn these days, I have a quick question for you (or better, Paola has a quick question she wants me to ask you if you are around anytime)

quite good really, very friendly and professional and well priced.....only down side is I've had to take things back to them they said they had done on more than 1 occasion. Generally good though, I would go back. They need some courtesy cars though, being so far out it's really difficult to get lifts and stuff.
