Experience of G S Motors - Headingley/Meanwood?

Has anyone had any experience with GS Motors? they specialise in maintaining VW/Audi.

Bought my first car there, a Vauxhall Astra Mk2 1.6 GL in silver, a great little motor! The service was very good but that was back in 1990ish. Not a lot of help really, sorry.

I've used E S Motors off Scothall Road. They specialise in VW.

We're very helpful and fixed the golf in 2 days.

The bill came as a shock though.

£274 inc vat for a new coil and leads. (+labour and diagnostic)

Is that the one on Monkbridge Road?

If so, I thought they were pretty decent, they sorted my Corrado out for a while up to the point where the dude said "end of the line mate, don't waste your money on it unless it's got sentimental value," which it hadn't

Can't say they ever did any big job for me though. Most people with a brain seem to go to IVC on the other side of town for big stuff.

I have used IVC for ages, can't fault them. Based on recent experience, I would stay well clear of GS Motors unless you have a written quote for the work and checked to ensure it's not inflated.

I can reccomend RS Muraay & Sons they are renault specialists but they do all cars. Very thorough and reasonably priced. They are in in Hyde park. I know them through a mate of mine (owners son) who runs a tuning outfit from the same premesis www.rstuning.co.uk/
