I presume you have rummaged around for some Ford specific forums where you may find a few more people with experience similar to yours?

Sounds like you have your work cut out. Daft question.... wouldn't it be cheaper to be an RS2000 or similar? Or are they massively more expensive? or is it and insurance cost thing?

Welcome to P.Heads anyway

Very nice car

I used to have one of those as a company hack - used to go very well. Love Fords yet people knock them for some reason. We currently have a zetec si Fiesta as a runaround which handles nearly as well as the 1.7 puma I had yonks ago.

Insurance is a killer with most things!

Last year i were paying 2100p/a on my fiesta! Now thank god its gone down £1000

You got any plans of removing the 1.4 and going for something bigger once you can afford it?

Still think it would be easier waiting and saving for something a bit bigger!

With regard to the rust on the arches, it should only be an MOT fail if the jagged edges have a risk on injuring pedestrians so cleaning them up and covering the edges with gaffer tape should allow it to pass.

Removal of the tape afterwards will give you a headstart on removing the rust hehe
