Just an idea I have been throwing around, why don't we have a regular pub meet in sunny Yorkshire??

The idea is simple really. We just need a good pub with a decent car park that is easy to get to from all over the region. We can sit in said pub gassing away about cars, motoring anecdotes and sharing tales of derring do! In summer we could stand in the car park admiring each other's cars and maybe a little drive. In winter we can sit by the fire sharing tales of motoring fun! We can make it a regular thing throughout the year, maybe once a fortnight in summer and once a month in the dark days of winter?

I know there are plenty of PHers around West Yorkshire in Leeds/Bradford/Hudds/Castleford etc and it would be great to get together regularly and have a good laugh and maybe some fish and chips!

So can anyone suggest a suitable pub that has good road links for people coming from miles around?? I thought maybe the Railway at Drighlington if anyone knows it. They have two large flat car parks and the M62 is two minutes away. It is easy to get to from Leeds/Bradford/Hudds and the M1. How does that sound??

So who would be up for this and would someone like to suggest a suitable date to have a go?

Just add your name to the list and we can gauge some numbers

I would be interested!

Xscape is not too good. For a start you can't rely on getting a completely free area of the car park and then, you never know who's looking at your car ... or rather what they are looking at your car for specifically!

Ive just been looking on a map of Yorkshire, and whetherby looks to be the most central point, with links from A1 M1 M62 and A64. But I dont mind travelling.

Good idea chaps, we have one every other Tuesday in the midlands region, and very well attended it is too. Last night there were about 16 of us, not bad for a lousy Tuesday evening in December in the wind & rain.

But thats in Lincolnshire isn't it ?

If its within 50 miles of York you could count on me to turn up on a fairly regular basis.

Second Tuesday in the month would be a good time for me so the 9th January would be a starter for 10. All we have to so then is find a location we can agree on. I would be happy to try the Railway at Drighlington for the first meeting. We can decide if it is a suitable location on the day.

Somewhere not too far off the M62 corridor is best, and close to the M1/A1 junction.

Date & location good for me. Count me in.

I do know of a lovely village pub with beer garden near 5 mins from there. Large car park & stunning beer garden for the summer. The landlord likes his cars too....

I thought that too, that is the one in Lincolnshire no? However it is a long way over from Leeds/Bradford area where a lot of PHers are based. I thought something more central would work quite well.
