My Brother has just discovered apparantly the cambelt on his 406 Coupe V6 is a dealer only thing needing special tools. Naturally, the dealer want about a grand for the privilege. Can anyone recommend a reasonably local (sorta Scarborough area, maybe out to Leeds? Hull/York fine) Pug specialist (Citroen specialist is probably OK) or garage that can handle this for a more reasonable fee?

Apologies if this should be in the French Bred section, I just figured seen as though it was a local garage request...

TIA.

What special tools?

Why not try a Bosch service centre? They are monitored and supposed to be pretty good where-ever.

No idea on the tools Local Indy garage showed him the stuff needed, that they didn't have. I'll pass on the bit about the Bosch places though cheers!

I did one on the drive and it took 5 hrs.

I used no specialist tools, just a few drill bits for timing pegs.Supposedly you should use a belt tension gauge but after fitting a few hundred belts a good guesstimate was used

Try some reputable back street garages for the work?
