Anyone know of any cheap(ish) hotels in Leeds City centre? Well preferably in the centre anyway although a short taxi ride would be acceptble?

Also a decent restaurant maybe of use

There are a couple on Kirkstall Road just off the Inner-Ring road. The Holiday Inn Express and Travel Lodge are on opposite sides of the road. These are a 5 to 10 minute walk into the centre. The Travel Lodge has a TGI Friday's attached as well so if you don't fancy the walk or are after breakfast. The Ibis is just down from the Railway Station. I'd also try the up-market hotels as well. Such as the Crowne Plaza are offering good deals at the Moment. As for Restaurants Bibi's is a popular choice even tho it seems a bit "stainless" for my taste. I tend to avoid the exotic so I'll leave them to others.

Think we have the Hotel sorted. There's a holiday inn near the armouries which appears to be the cheapest.

Now a restuarant is needed. A good one (ie better than pizza hut) , not cheap, but not expensive and ideal for 2

If your staying near the armouries then Brasserie 44 isn't too far.

Crown plaza will usually barter down to under £100, and there is a good oriental up the road, from memory Oriental 66 or something?

yep it is quite pricey, but a good place none the less!

Could try Bebees near the station, or Leodis, or there's a new Tapas place next to 'Fat Cats' - went there last Saturday.

If you are looking at the city centre Est Est Est is pretty good.

Obviously it's all down to personal taste but I found the Est Est Est in Leeds to be rubbish. Small portions of tasteless food, not fantastic at all. Everything looks nice and it's well situated but I didn't enjoy either of the meals I've had there.

La Vina - ok food but the lights were so dim last time I went I couldn't tell what I was eating.

Piccolino on Park Row is ok, but not a very big menu choice.

Mains are only about £15. Unless you wear big shoes and your first name is Ronald that's not expensive.

I'm interested to know what you think to No3, as it has changed hands recently. If you haven't seen it already, the menu looks interesting. thumbup

Enjoy.

No.3 is ok, although I personally think Heathcotes is better.

Bibi's takes some beating though.
