Last meet I attended was Whitby about an hour and half away from me (near the Humber Bridge).

With a newborn and a tired wife, maybe the most I could probably travel at the moment.

Have you got any ideas?

A very boring S60 D5 SE due to having two young ones, cash isnt available for an Elise/weekend car.

I am based in Hull, near to the Humber Bridge.

Depends what you mean by "meets". we don't do a lot of monthly meets in a pub where everyone sits around and talks about cars ... we do however get up at silly hours of the morning and drive them every now and again though ... see the link in the forum for "Wolds Wazz"

I am quite interested in your website link though. What's all that about? Are you an advanced instructor? I have been thinking of getting some more intensive training for yonks, but you hear so many varying stories that you end up doing nothing!

Whereabouts do you mean by "Hull", are you in Hessle by any chance? You have Oliver at Driffield as he says, then me and StuB out at Howden/Goole and a couple of others dotted around.

Well I've always said if enough E.Yorkies get together I will run a drive one morn or evening, round some nice roads in the area, but must be honest I wouldn't think you would enjoy very much in the volvo!

There's always Kenyon's classic & sports car meeting at a pub on the south bank.

Hi from Howden wavey

Oliver, I'm guessing we'll be on some of your local roads on the 29th, so could you ask all the local farmers not to leave cack all over the roads please?

Hello all,

The link to the site is because advanced driving was the only way cost effective way for me to get something more out of driving. I am an Observer for the local IAM but am only 26 and do know a couple of people from HPC where we have met and been out for a drive. My ten day old daughter has put pay to me spending time/money meeting the HPC standard course requirements for a year or so.

I am a petrolhead and love all things cars, the Volvo was due to having 'some' grunt but also needing a family/work mixture. I was searching for a T5 but the one I have now came up at the right time so took the D5 instead. Its a nice Q car as I do like to trap on when the oppotunity arises and it can blend in if attention has been drawn my way. cop Also on a drive with a T5 recently over 250miles in a day I returned around the 43mpg while he did around the 18mpg over some rather spirited roads.
I appreciate it isnt a hardcore drivers car but my two children mean I have to be sensible for a while.

I wasnt particularly after a drinking session, more of an early morning drive with a few others sharing miles of clear road..... driving
