I need a new exhaust for a Chim 500. Has anyone any recommendations on a local(ish) place that can supply and fit?

I would have no hesitation in recommending AlpaUK for anything heavily customised to your heart's content, or even if you want careful fitting of any aftermarket stuff! Ask for Andy, and whilst you are there, ask him to show you the pics he has of the work done for a griff (a crazy 4-pipe set-up!). He sorted the exhausts on my tusc no probs, 13months on, they're still on!

They're in Leeds (opposite Readmans just off M621), you can give them a call on 01132440909 or google them on net!

hmm my mate used alpha and they were terrible. I wouldnt trust them with my works van TBH let alone a TVR. My mate ended up just ripping the backbox he had done off and binning it. It was very poorly made, brackets were welded in the wrong place etc etc. To be fair they did look at it a couple of time and bend it a bit to fit better but in reality the whole thing needed remanufacturing.

Avoid powerflow up the road too they really are shocking.

Best place in leeds is Longlife they are on Tong Road in Leeds 12 just off the outer ring road. They made a cracking job on my other mates megane 225, I had a system done for the same car at powerflow and they made a right pigs ear of it.

**edit just realised alpha are powerflow, all I can say is dont take your car there. I've had two systems done by them, both poorly made and needing loads of trips back to rectify faults caused by them not being arsed to make brackets properly.

The other exhaust setup further up the road are called Alba and they are a shower, even worse than powerflow.

Thanks for the advice.
I have had a look at several local companies, but I was uneasy about what I was going to end up with, so got in touch with ACT Performance in W Sussex.
Tim at ACT was very helpful, so I have ordered a full stainless exhaust, with Cherry Bombs. It will look like a standard Chimaera exhaust, but with added burble and top end noise. 4 weeks beore I can get it delivered and fitted though.
Cheers.
