The MSA British Hillclimb Championship visits Harewood for the second time this year. This weekend also sees rounds of the Hillclimb Leaders Championship and the Richard Alexander Volkswagen Harewood Hillclimb Championship.

After round 16 at Doune near Stirling , the current leader in the British Championship is 2005 champion Martin Groves. Groves is 8 points ahead of second placed man Scott Moran. Third spot is held by Scott's father and former British Champion Roger Moran. Fourth place is in the hands of Simon Durling. The top 4 are all running Gould chassis. But look out for the brand new OMS of Trevor Willis, who finished in the top 10 of both rounds at Doune. This is a new car aimed at challenging the Gould stranglehold of the top ranks of Hillclimb cars.

The class runs will act as qualifying for the British Championship contenders. The top 12 of each qualifying session will go through to a run off, where the top 10 score points in the championship. Last year the last run-off saw the first two sub 50 second runs at the venue.

In addition to the British Championship we have a great selection of other cars many of which will be fighting for points in the Harewood Championship. Watch out for some great action and don't forget to see the car show before you leave

Is there a list of events for each day available. I'm planning on a Sunday visit nice and early. Is there much I'll miss on the Saturday?

as Daftlad says...

Saturday morning will have 2 practice runs and maybe a timed run in the morn. timed in the afternoon.

Sunday - practice for those who didnt on sunday, then timed runs all day.

i believe both Saturday and sunday will have a round or 2 of the top 12 run off of those in the nationals..

ie the 12 fastest drivers in the championship get a clear run at the hill - the top 10 scoring points.

Hi Daftfella!

I requested to be moved to Class 8 which was approved, however I have just been told that I have to go back to class 31 and so do you! Sorry about that! something to do with Spaceframed cars with fibreglass bodies blah blah.....

Still class 8 would have been a walk in the park for you!! You will have to try a bit now to beat that Radical!!

See you on Saturday,

Lig.
