I have a 2 story extension planned for my house in Leeds. 4 new rooms on Semi'D house.

Can anyone recommend a good builder who is up to the task.

I'll need to see previous completed domestic projects, but I'm keen to get quotes.

I have drawings back from my architect and I'm ready to go.

A pint is on offer for good leads, to be handed over after the July Film meet

I assume you want to tender to three or four contractors to get a reasonable comparison of costs? Do you want it priced on drawings only or do you have specifications for the work?

I would suggest using a reasonably sized contractor rather than a jobbing builder, to make sure the work is carried out to a tight programme and to a high standard, there's nothing worse than havibg to keep chasing builders who don't turn up.

I can recommend a number of local contractors who I'm sure would price the job for you:

Watergate (Leeds) Limited - 01924 820802

NU Construction - 0845 0500007

DRP Construction - 01423 – 526255

All of the above carry out commercial work as well as residential, so have excellent site management and will co-ordinate all trades on site.

Let me know if you need any help or advice.

just as a note, if your drawings are in electronic format, and fully specced you can send them of travis perkins to get an estimate of the cost of the materials
this is the link, you can gather most of the stuff from there

www.buildthedream.co.uk/estimate/EstimatingForm.asp

the cost is about 55 but i think its well worth it

Drawing are on paper, but fully specced including calculations for spanning beams etc.

I'll have a look at the contacts posted above and your comments about 'jobbing' builders and a sizable residential pjoject are duly noted.

thanks for help.

Got a few bricks and a paving slab round the back of my garage if you want them.

Could build you a bbq and save you 25 large ones. Would do it all in for 5G.

Bargain I reckon!

As you rightly know Dan, I have a stonking Barbeque already, but sadly it will go when the new build occurs.

Your 'quote' is now on file and, whilst you win on price so far, your projected workmanship leaves a somewhat worriesome taste in my mouth....

I'm in Meanwood, can you tell me addresses of his previous work so I can drive past and size them up?
