Since I'm *cough cough* working from home for a week or two, it gives me the perfect opportunity to knock off early and head towards the Peaks one evening.

Basic plan is drive to a pub, have a pint, eat, drive back. I'm based in Sheffield so route is basically west of here but flexible depending on who else is interested.

Anyone likely to be up for an evening run?

I think some of the SYTVRCC could be up for this. Give us a date and a time.

Give me a few days/a week or so, and I might be up for a bit of hooning.

me too

btw, just picked up a panda 1l with 50k on the clock, going to turn it in to a street legal road racer

bucket seats, stiff suspension and a roll cage...oh, and a uno turbo engine - bought it for £50! go to fit all the bits and then it'll be a nice fun little car!

Cool! £50? :jealousSmiley:

Wonder what other engine you could shoe-horn in if you REALLY tried? (S2000?)

just been out in it and I think first on the list is brakes...not uprated, just some brakes would do!

then stiffer suspension, followed by engine! it is one scary car to drive fast!

Thats mental Tom..

Exactly what I'd have expected..

So, run next week sounds like a plan. I'll have a look at maps and weather and so on and organise something in a day or two..

Pandas are great, they go well enough with the FIRE engine, good fun to chuck about, their feebleness is part of the appeal. Plus they are a design classic, Guigario rates it as his best ever piece of work. Put some bigger boots on the std rims and they improve no end.
I have had three of them, the last one we towed behind our motorhome on an A frame.

You know, you could chop that in and get one of the 4WD ones. Now THAT could be fun with a 2litre turbo or similar...

what i'd like to do is have the 1.4 engine in or the uno turbo engine possibly and run it for a while on the standard 135 section tyres that'd be amusing

meanwhile it's back to working out costings for roll cages...found a supplier in norfolk - looks like scaffolding but it'll do the job

They're the puppies, I swopped to 155's and it was loads better on them, it had a more aggressive stance too.

If it's after next monday (damned exams) then we might be up for this Simon....if I can tear WH away from work before midnight!!

Will give us an excuse to exercise the Griff for the first time this year (subject to getting it MOTd of course!) and seems like ages since we've seen you
