TVR Bonnet Hinge Prob
Discussion
Just bought a Chim 500. Got a problem with one of the hinges on the bonnet. It has come semi-loose from the fibre glass. The bonnet can be moved up and down half an inch or so when its shut. It should be ok for now, but it needs sorting.
Any ideas for a fix. Or where I can take it for a fix? I'm based in West Yorks.

I had the same problem on my Chim. The cheap fix is to buy a fibreglass repair kit from Halfords, (fibreglass mat and resin) and re-enforce the area around the hinge. Its very easy to do. You need to take the bonnet off to do this, (also very easy).
I didn't actually use the Halfords stuff as my brother-in-law had some fibreglass mat spare, so the fix actually cost me £0!
A year later and the hinge was still solid.

Hello Tony - sorry can't make that as the Parkinator is dragging me ( and will probably have to )on the Dales way walking from Ilkley to Bowness - 84 miles !!! But will be at Santa Pod on Sat and will try to get to Chatsworth as Parkinator's gran lives in Tideswell so can use that as an excuse...Hope you're well
