The Tuscan S was T1-S, the new Sag and Tam were F1's from what I remember. The main reason I got T1-S was the Tuscan S had them. If that car has them, they must be good I thought.
Then saw the Sag had F1's... well if that car has them, so will I...
Not been disappointed yet copying TVR's choice in tyres

Tell me about it. I had T1-S on my gti6 when I first got it, loved them, but hadn't learnt the cars much then, but ended up getting a nasty egg in one of them, and the fronts were balding, so went to the T1-R. The S were so good I thought the R must be awesome!
So, the R were naff, and as I was driving my car I thought this ain't too special, what was all the fuss about the gti6... naff
So went to F1's after about 3k of the T1-R, and WOW. The day I had them fitted I just went on a 75 mile drive just for the hell of it, all over the place. I wasn't even that thrilled driving the 306 with the R's on, and didn't go out just for a spin...
So yes, stay away from the T1-R imho. They might get better on wider profiles, but on 195/50R15's they were terrible, nothing like the T1-S, and nowhere near the Eagle F1's, which imho, are the best *all round* tyre today...
Your Tam had F1's on didn't it Willyworm? I'd stick with them as they must work pretty well being on the new Sagaris, and other current Tiv's!
Nothing like getting tyres you don't like and having to live with them till they wear off. Luckily for me tyres in my size are cheap so I just dumped the T1-R's, they were that naff...

I had T1-S all round on the Chimaera and I loved them.
I have F1s on the back of my Tuscan and have to say that they don't feel any better than the Proxes T1-S - mind you, any one who remembers me on the way to Le Mans last year will remember that they were over-inflated by about 10psi by the garage that fitted them - talk about a bouncy back end!
Still, they don't seem to feel any better now. I have no experience of T1-R though...
If I had a choice (and by that I mean, if I weren't still waiting for my first paycheck of my new job ) I'd have T1-S all round if I could find them.

Yes just put F1's on the Tam, a change from the Toyos. I have done 550 miles with them and I am now having them taken off and going back to Toyos. The car with the F1s likes to stay in the road tram lines and is reluctant to steer out of them, if you cut a corner the car will settle in the tram lines and not take the corner as intended, very hairy!!
I spoke to Jules about it as I was worried it might be a suspension problem. He said it was quiet a common occurance with F1's on TVRs, and he knowes a few people who have changed back to Toyos. It is due to the fact that TVRs are a light car and that the F1's are a more directional tyre, in other words they like to go straight. I have F1's on my Volvo and they are great. I suppose each type of car suits a particular type of tyre better than some others.
So if anyone wants a pair of 235/40 R18 F1's with only 550 miles on them mail me.

I found them a very good tyre all round to be honest, they ran lovely and warm and seemed to have tremendous grip in summer!
Just the life was a bit depressing (5k on a Tdi 405 with some tweaks)...

I'll be due another set around Easter, or after lapping the Nurburgring a few times! I guess I'll go for the Toyos again as they're pretty good on the car at the moment!
F1 GSD3 and Toyo T1-S were about the same for me personally.
T1-S maybe a bit softer edged and hotter running than the Eagles, and perhaps ultimately more grip but less life...
Eagle's have the edge in composure in the wet. The T1-S were good, but the F1's just seem that bit more solid, though I don't push **that** hard in the wet anyway, even though the gti6 can out-pace an NSX on the old P6000's in some cases in the wet (sad fact from Evo's best driver compo, oh yes )
T1-R's = evil imho. If I couldn't get F1's any more, I'd be back to the T1-S!

Went for a drive yesterday on the Yorkshire barn weekend, I have done over 2000 miles on the T1-R's now, they are starting to get better, and yesterday they did OK. But I am still not as happy with them as I feel I should be.
