Been going solo with the girlfriend for the last three years and she tends to go down for a week or so
Sounds like my sort of girl.............................
Sorry couldn't resist.
Rich - what are the details of the trip - timings, cost etc... please. My brother's keen to do it but I don't know if I fancy camping.
Im looking for someone to organise the trip
Gordon the Goffer siad he'd do it but has gone AWOL!
Im not up for this - too much on with proposed new house and trip to Guernsey in May
Ill happily get the tickets through TVRCC
IF
1. Trip organiser identified
2. People let me know for certain they want to go
Dont have costs - similar to last year I hope - speak with Bob the Planner re costs

Costs depends on route - cheap ferry with long drive, shorter drive but more exensive ferry. If you look at the additional miles and servicing costs
If you look at what we managed last year it worked out at about £600 per person + spending money assuming grandstand seat and Poole-Cherbourg ferry. The ferry could have been cheaper if we had taken a later crossing rather than the midday one.
Rich, if you can find someone to lead the convoy, I will supply a route down and organise the ferry even if I cannot go with you all (already committed elsewhere). I will also organise the camp site stuff as well if thats what people want but it does not come cheap however it is a bit more civilised.
I would start with the same package as last year - it semed to work well and those who joined later and made their own ferry arrangements integrated well.
Therefore suggtested package is :-
Leave York at 16:30 on Tuesday
Overnight ferry Poole-Cherbourg (with or without cabin)
Run down Cherbourg peninsular arriving Wed about 16:00 (with lunch on the way)
Wednesday evening practice
Thursday recce day and evening/night practice
Friday fun around arnage/Indianapolis with evening at the drivers parade
Saturday - Racing
Sunday Racing and evening party
Monday trundle back to UK
Tuesday - if later ferry continue to Yorkshire
Sleep and liver recovery as required for the rest of the week.
Alternatively try and piggy back on Hampshire or Dorset runs down and save some of the organisation ?
