Does anyone know of any performance car clubs (along the lines of P1) based in Yorkshire or north midlands? Getting just a bit fed up with blowing tens of thousands in depreciation, and looks like a good alternative to try. Looked into P1 a while back, but because of location it would cost a fortune to have cars delivered. Any idea/information?

I am just seeing if the costs would stack up.

What kind of budget would you blow a year. Also
what cars would have to be in the list?

how many weeks a year would you want access to a car.

Mine would be a
360/430, gallardo,

I suppose budget depends on the cars available, but £10k a year or so is the limit I think.

I'm sure there's a market for this in the region, but nobody is doing it as far as I can see. Even the classic car clubs steer clear of here.

Clubs seem to operate on a 'points' basis with 30-40 days a year being the norm.

Cars? The three you mention would be great, plus maybe some cheaper/different things to mix things up a bit. Porsche 911/Caterham/Bentley Arnage/Lotus Elise.

Toyed with the idea of setting something up a few times, but I just don't have the time.

I want someone else to do it!

6,000k per year for Gallardo
2,000 Miles per year but you get 4 whole weeks, 1 week per qtr, 500 milea a week. Car would be delivered, on a trailer. But you would probably have to pay a fee for delivery.

You would get an allocated week in each qtr. This should spread the weather out. It leaves 4 weeks of down time if spread over 12 Drivers.

It would also require a returnable bond of about 5% of car value.

Each driver would need to arrange seperate insurance. I would find an insurance company willing to take part. You would have to foot the cost.

Just a few notes at the moment. If anyone whould consider this then let me know and i will waste a bit more time on it.

Something like an Ariel Atom would be a good choice.

Fast, reasonably cheap & not something most people would want to outright own themselves (although they would love to drive one now & again).

Porsches would be an obvious choice due to reliability.

How about something like a bowler wildcat ? Not everyone's obvious choice, but again, mightly quick, reliable, reasonably priced & huge fun.

Personally, I'd join if memberships were reasonable. Not hugely bothered about driving the £150k cars, however nice they would be. I'd rather have something a bit different for the odd day (see note above about Ariel Atom).

Good luck.

£5320 for 4 weeks hire or a Tuscan
You have to pay deposit of £3k

Whilst i would run it as a business i.e. make a profit. It would work out a lot cheeper. There would be limitations on the car use. No trackdays, VMAX e.t.c

The car must be garaged and the maximum drivers per car would be 12. You would never own the vehicle. Membership would be non re-rundable. Car would be kept for 3 Years.

Know one of the guys involved. They "do" Group days where you can switch cars as well.
