Any experience of VDV Motor Engineers in Huddersfield?
Discussion
Morning all,
Have any Yorkshire based PHers had any experience with VDV Motor Engineers based in Marsden, near Huddersfield?
I've got a 2012 Mini One with the notoriously fragile timing belt'd 1.6 petrol, and these guys were recommended by my local garage to do the timing chain replacement.
The reason I ask is that they provided a ballpark figure of £1200 to do the timing chain, which is around double what I was anticipating, and it looks like other BMW / MINI specialists are offering timing chain replacement for around £700, so I was wondering if there is something about VDV that make them 50% better than others?
Or is £1200 about right, and anyone offering it for £700 going to be cutting all kinds of corners and doing it on the cheap?
I did have a brief phone conversation with them a while ago while I was looking for a suitable MINI and they came across very well (friendly, knowledgeable, not pushing to have unnecessary work done) and I am happy to pay a bit more to support decent companies, but 70% more is hard to justify
Thank all,
Tom
