What to do in Leeds on a Saturday?
Discussion
Hi All
I'm dropping my car off for some work in Headingley tomorrow. My wife and son (10) are following me up, and we're considering staying in Leeds for the day and maybe even staying over the night.
Any recommendations for anything going on in/around Leeds tomorrow? We don't mind driving a little bit but primarily looking for a bit of a relax, so I think would prefer to stay in the city. Possibly in the Marriott so nice and central. Any restaurant recommendations? Nothing too fancy!
Cheers

Trinity kitchen for lunch, usually a good selection of different food vendors (they switch them up regularly so you get a good variety). City centre is usually quite busy this time of year and will be hoping with Christmas stuff so there will be lots of shopping and the like to be had if you are that way inclined

Used to be free in the late 90’s! But they do have meerkats and a crocodile now.And the various fish tanks are quite impressive also.
Took Mrs out during the summer:
Obviously Roundhay Park is just opposite, with free parking.
Kirkstall Abbey is worth visiting too, just a short drive from Horsforth.
Well we crammed a lot in to the two days and back home now, feels quiet!
Got my hair cut in Headingley on Saturday morning then checked in to the hotel. Took about 20 minutes to get in to Trinity Car Park which was a bit of a pain.
Walked to Trinity Kitchen - everywhere was proper rammed - had good at the greek van which was absolutely gorgeous, albeit £10 for a chicken gyros!
Then we headed to the Ice Cube, again proper rammed but we battled through the crowds for the ice-skating. We couldn't get in to Sukhothai, but went to Aarti which was absolutely amazing. If you've not tried it yet, and like 'different' Indian food then give it a go. Staff were really nice too.
This morning we got the water taxi to the Armouries which was really good. My son loved it, and whilst it was only a quick visit I bet you can spend hours in there. Then we had some lunch at Fearns which was really good. I was tempted by the Sunday dinners but settled for some small plates.
Had a great weekend. Thanks all for your recommendations which played a big part in us having such a good time.
