Can you now technically get a fine or worse for doing 21 in a 20 or 31 in a 30?
What about 2 friends meeting up in leeds before driving to an event?

Pretty sure we aren’t allowed to do most of that anyway so not sure why it needs a special order.
The cruise part is new though and explains why the service station that hosts Leeds cruise has now cancelled and won’t have anything to do with it.
That's not quite what's happened at Skelton. They wanted a 'face' to the cruise that they could organise with and the two guys who had been doing it previously both stepped down after some drama about asking someone to park in the main car park. Skelton are happy to continue provided someone is responsible for it. Squires have taken the cruise on for now.The cruise part is new though and explains why the service station that hosts Leeds cruise has now cancelled and won’t have anything to do with it.
This is all to do with those that peacock around revving their engines and generally act like cock sockets, it's a nuisance and people have had enough.
There was feature on one of national TV programmes tonight about the issue in and around Birmingham, morons repeatedly racing up and down the highstreets with after market exhausts, I've had loud cars in the past but there is a time a place to enjoy them, they will and have ruined it for everyone as soon the noise cameras will come in, but people don't seem to be able to play nicely these days.

As with most laws that are passed, I suspect that 'people' aren't consulted in any way. I would imagine most of us would prefer that Police were tackling car theft in the area (which is rife and seemingly completely unpursued) than the less than 1% of traffic that revs slightly more loudly than the noise of just regular heavy traffic. Don't make the mistake of thinking that just because it's an annoyance for you, it causes an outrage for everybody and the system is finally here to sort it out for you. If you think that the noise of cars in the 70s and 80s (an era of unsilenced V6s and V8s) was somehow more restrained and well-behaved than a modern day pop and bang then I think you might be wearing very rosy glasses. Car culture in the 90s when I grew up was way more rowdy than it is now, but the Police were largely busy dealing with people beating one another up.There was feature on one of national TV programmes tonight about the issue in and around Birmingham, morons repeatedly racing up and down the highstreets with after market exhausts, I've had loud cars in the past but there is a time a place to enjoy them, they will and have ruined it for everyone as soon the noise cameras will come in, but people don't seem to be able to play nicely these days.

You can think what you like and make up your own percentages and strawman narratives about what used to happen if you like, but it's been widely covered for a number of years, the increase in anti social driving and the growth in tuning shops is there for all to see. People have had enough whether in Knightsbridge or Leeds or out in the Dales on a sunny weekend, personally I'd just stop it at source at the tuners and scrap any car that isn't put back to standard.

bit of a harsh statement for pistonheadsPeople have had enough whether in Knightsbridge or Leeds or out in the Dales on a sunny weekend, personally I'd just stop it at source at the tuners and scrap any car that isn't put back to standard.
I take it your car(s) are 100% factory standard?

As can you. I'd be interested to see the 'widely covered' reports of increases in tuning shops in West Yorkshire, how the increase in anti-social driving is monitored and measured in comparison to the 90s and exactly how you having an opinion on anything is somehow representative of a much larger cross-section of people.Wills2 said:

You'd stop people enjoying any kind of freedom that you don't enjoy. Have you thought about applying for a job in the Taliban or something? What if the car in question IS standard?Edited by Rogue86 on Friday 18th August 14:10

Everything mentioned in the Council’s press release is already covered by one or more offences.
What the PSPO allows is the extra-judicial enforcement of the PSPO without the hassle of allowing people to, I don’t know, have a trial.
PSPOs should be opposed on principle. They are the antithesis of the traditional justice system.
