Erm..Hi.

So after my last university (Imperial) decided to change a fair few student's education plans, I am now moving up to Sheffield mid-sept to restart my studies :) So a big how-do-you-do to everyone and just forewarning you that the roads are no longer safe due to an annoying middle lane habit I've developed recently... :boxedin:

If anyone would be prepared to give me a local run down of roads, events and anything else useful in the area I'd appreciate it. I lived here about 10 years ago, so I've got a vague idea where somethings are.

And er, how do I convince my gf that Sheffield is not in the North (because it ain't that far up..)

Loads of fab roads just out of Sheffield. (Big lumpy bit on the left!)

Currently a reasonably local biweekly meeting of PH types down near Matlock. Mostly eating chips and standing around in a car park. Check the threads in Midlands forum.

TVRCC meets a few miles from Sheffield, over in Hooton Roberts, if you are into that sort of thing! Everyone welcome.

Otherwise keep an eye on Events forum as there are pretty frequent car shows / meets, and runs out that are all pretty local for you.

Yep Imperial did do a few students over for sure, I have a friend who was there and is now nowhere!

Definitely try the Peak district as it is great fun and the PHers round the area are a very good bunch of people in my experience!

There are some superb roads a little further up in North Yorks or over in North Lincs. Sheffield area & Pennines seems to be heavily policed with lots of scameras IMHO.
