Yorkshire Motorsport Festival 2022 - 24th-26th June
Discussion
Been seeing increasing numbers of posts for this event online, haven't made it in previous years unfortunately.
Has anyone attended/competed in previous years' runnings?
Seems to be a reasonably varied and eclectic selection of cars on show/running up the hill

last year was the first
I as told by a former committee member that it was unlikely to go ahead as it was badly managed, but it did.
I might consider buying tickets along to it this year given it went ahead last year in more challenging circumstances.
£80 for weekend ticket plus camping, 3 nights is £76 so £156 per person to do the full weekend isn't bad really.

Well, dunno why they sell 3 day tickets for this, half a day would see it all, felt like 8 cars went up the hill and you could barely see them anyway - if you're supposed to have people watching the hillclimb at least think about spectator perches or something, you couldn't see anything bar from the finish line. And I think there were more food vans than interesting cars.
The old Hope motorshow had way more interesting stuff and it was a fiver to get in.
Honestly felt so dead if I got tickets next year I'd just sell them on towards Goodwood ones, it was that dissapointing even with free tickets.
Didn't even feel like a club race meet to wander around - it was more like a corperate food and socialising event without the actual event. Like someone wanted Goodwood North but forgot there were supposed to be cars and a show.

Friday was dead last year as well by all accounts, sat and sun were very busy when we were there. Not going this year as couldnt get discount on tickets while displaying cars. £30 quid is pushing it in our view. The old Hope motorshow had way more interesting stuff and it was a fiver to get in.

I didn't go. My best mate did. His assessment...
"Yorkshire motorsport festival was so st I left after 45 minutes, 20 minutes were walking to and from the carpark. Absolute disgrace of an event, probably 60 cars max 15 of which were fords...
... It was essentially up a mountain and dead!...
... I asked one of the car reps if it had been busy on Friday and Saturday and he shook his head and remarked its a total disaster this - the organisers haven’t advertised, half the car dealers cant tow their truck and stands up the hills, there's no indoor tents so yesterday when we had heavy showers three times almost everyone left and the food stalls are overpriced - £14 for fish and ten chips or £15 for a tub of hot wings - we wont be coming here again."

Interesting feedback. I was keen on going when speaking to people 6 to 8 weeks ago. Then people told me it had been a disaster last year so we're not going again. I toyed with just turning up as a spectator yesterday but the reputational damage put me off. Sounds like a good swerve.
No shortage of car shows in the North. There is about 1 per fortnight at the moment.

Seems like a lot of people have the same opinion. Couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.
