Talk to me about the Bawtry (Doncaster) area
Discussion
Just had a nice few days at the Best Western Spa hotel just outside Bawtry. Don't really know anything about this area but we sort of got into a routine of having a coffee outside the Crown Hotel in the High Street, thing is I saw far more high-value cars whilst sitting there than I do in the Herts area. Tally over the few days:
Too many Range-Rovers to tot-up, they're everywhere
2 new Defenders
3 Aston-Martins including a new Superleggera (2 on private plates and one on a 21 plate)
3 Ferraris (don't know what flavours, but looked new) two red and one blue
2 Bentleys (neither newish)
1 bright yellow Mercedes SLS
Also, driving around there seem to be lots of very large new houses around, is there money in them there parts?

You might be best in the Yorkshire section.. I'm sure others know more but here's my go. For whatever reason Bawtry attracts the local money, and has a somewhat boutique nature with an atmosphere and reputation as a 'place to go', which has been built upon over the years with more bars and eateries. Many of the vehicles you saw will be from the surrounding towns/villages; with Bawtry being unique (within a 20(?)mile radius) for that sort of vibe. It attracts those attending horse racing at Doncaster with the Crown Hotel often putting them up. It's also a bit of a '10 Bob millionaire' type place.
I'm about 15 minutes away, I do go now and again for a change of scenery; there's some decent restaurants there.

I live about 5 miles from there. Doncaster is like all towns across the country really where there are nice parts and not so nice parts. Coming out of doncaster towards bawtry you drive through bessacarr where there are some very nice large houses. I guess they prefer going to bawtry which has some nice shops and restaurants rather than the more ordinary doncaster.
Once a year the car parking in the high street becomes a bit of a car show with some very nice classic and modern exotic cars. Some owners offer payed rides up the road towards tickhill and back, the money raised goes to charity I believe.

Whenever I drive through Bawtry, I think of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8Kum8OUTuk
If you must live in Doncaster, there are far nicer places which are a bit less showy.

Yes. Bawtry has had a clique for years. Basically anyone who earns well and works in Doncaster.Too many Range-Rovers to tot-up, they're everywhere

Also when Doncaster airport grew, pilots/cabin staff were being offered £££ to come north. Their salaries would buy mansions up here.
There's also a few areas around Doncaster itself where the houses are huge. Supercars.
You get a real juxtaposition of money, and utter feral poverty.
I live 15mile from bawtry. Drive through it daily.
Doncaster, and surrounding areas, are an utter st hole. However, if you come Lincolnshire way on from bawtry, Everton, misterton, epworth... Plenty of nice villages and pubs etc
Bawtry is and always has been one of the nicest places to live in Doncaster. Kind of a high heels and Chanel hand bag hangout.
Tickhill just down the road is a lot more sedate, more of a Barbour jacket and Hunter wellies kind of place.
Both border the South Yorks, North Notts Area. Both have a reputation for being expensive. Retford just down the road is on the East Coast Main Line and it takes 1 hour 30 mins to get in to Kings X so these areas have seen an influx of out of Towners who frequently commute to and from and benefit From Cheaper houses with some land, have a look on Rightmove tho and you’ll soon see that some of the houses are really quiet expensive.
There are some serious cars around the area including Retford and it’s outlying villages.
