South Yorks Scamerati have just pulled a flanker.

The Truvelo on Hathersage Road A625 near Dore Moor Inn has been uprooted and moved to the other side of the road closer to Sheffield.

If you're hoofing it from Whirlow, you'll have to be pretty quick to avoid it as it's now hidden beyond the bend before Long Line.

Bastids.

I can see no reason for this. It protects the Long Line crossroads, but I've never seen a high speed incident there. All the other accidents (bar the TVR) have been in the opposite direction, closer to Whirlow.

It will, of course, raise far more money than its previous location.

I only just noticed it had been moved. I think it can also be turned round too to catch drivers coming the other way too. Not sure whether the original one could.

The one on Chesterfield Road at Woodseats has gone though. Whether it returns when the roadworks are done remains to be seen.

All the Truvelos can....as long as the sensor cables run past the centre of the road. Those at the old site didn't, but the painted lines were extended across the road to fool you.

Not had a close look at the new sensors yet.

This thread is duplicated on on the Midlands forum. Bit more stuff about the area there.
