Diamond Cut Alloy Repair Near York/Scarborough
Discussion
I have used Raw Wheels in York, I was very happy with the service and results

I saw this thread early on and was going to recommend Ian Jemison too - I really really rate their work (I've had cracked alloys repaired, and alloys powder coated there) but wasn't sure they did diamond cut alloys - if they do I'd definitely recommend.
There's a great coffee shop next door too!
(I'm based west of Leeds and I make the trip to York despite there being loads of places closer)

I’ve used them & would not recommend. https://g.page/rawwheels?share
Complained about finish on a couple of wheels, gave him a chance to sort them out, still dissatisfied with results. Took a lot longer than promised as well.
Raw Wheels recommended not refurbing my Scirocco wheels by diamond cutting as the finish wouldn't be perfect so I went for powder coating which actually looks better and is perfect.
Make of that what you will. I saw a lot of wheels on my visits there and I was impressed by the quality of their work.

I have no first hand experience of Raw Wheels, but the advice given to me was to avoid them.
Sounds that way if they can't Diamond Cut with confidence but suggest powder coating instead...? I've seen some pretty bad wheels at the Wheel Specialist at Garfoth that you'd think were beyond repair but end up looking like new.Bemmer said:

Agree. If you can’t diamond cut, you’re going to struggle to make a living in wheel refurbishment these days!I would also consider purely painting the wheels rather than powder coating. Maybe it’s the standard of the service I have had in the past, but I have never once been happy with the finish on a powder coated wheel.
