Would not even be a news story of it wasn't for jealous police who always seem to have a boner for supercar drivers. If this was a fiesta it wouldn't be a discussion topic.

Very high performance cars and poor weather conditions can treat even the most skilful driver. I keep my stuff in the garage over the worst of the weather in winter but in the other hand people that use their cars every day are often championed on here. Can't win!

I once test drove a Boxster S from JCT, was given full encouragement to 'see what she can do' on the M621. Wonder if there was similar here?

The information came from Highways England.

I used to work there, believe me, the unofficial road test top speed was a very real thing. I won't print it here!

To be fair I can see both sides. I was taking a track car on NS2Rs down the M621 for mapping at RS recently and hit the stream crossing the '621, it completely disconnected with the tarmac skimming across it whilst I quietly shat myself. I did see it coming so neither accelerated, nor decelerated but still it was a bit scary.
Having local knowledge does help and you do know that Westbound has many areas like this, particularly (and worst of all) the water rushes across just as 3 lanes go into 2 at the top and it goes into a right hander.
It's not the best design of motorway.

On my way back up there was a rarer flood across the carriageway and then a very crumpled looking barrier to the left of it so you can see what's happened. The tyres on that ^ have plenty of grooves, but also if whoever it was had their foot down it's oversteered off when it's hit the water.
